Welcome to the Kern County Board of Supervisors meeting registration page. Beginning July 1, 2026, all participants wishing to provide public comment, whether in-person or remotely, must register to speak.  Registration for upcoming meetings is available below for agenda items or non-agenda public comment. Registration opens 30 minutes before the start of the meeting. Speakers will be limited to two minutes. Per the Administrative and Procedural Rules for the Proceedings of the Board of Supervisors, Rule 5, speaker limits will apply.

How to Participate

If Participating In-Person: 

1. Registration will open 30 minutes before the start of the meeting. 
2. Scroll to the meeting you wish to participate in, below. 
3. Select "In Person" for how you will be attending.
4. Please enter your first and last name. If you provide an email, you will receive a confirmation email after registering. 
5. Select the agenda items for which you wish to provide comment and then click on "Register".
6. Registration will also be available in Board Chambers. 
7. Speakers will be called in the order of registration.

If Participating Remotely:

Important: Advance registration using the same phone number you will use to call into the meeting is strongly recommended. Registering during the meeting or calling in from a different phone number may result in delays and could cause you to miss the opportunity to comment before your item has been considered. 

1. Registration will open 30 minutes before the start of the meeting. 
2. Scroll to the meeting you wish to participate in, below. 
3. Select "Virtually" for how you will be attending. 
4. Please enter your first and last name and the phone number you will use to call in.
5. Select the agenda items for which you wish to provide comment and then click on "Register".
6. At the start of the meeting, call (661) 529-7155. Participants who selected "Call my phone when the meeting starts" during registration will receive an automated call when the meeting begins and do not need to dial in manually. 
7. After joining the meeting, remain on the line and listen until your name is called. No additional phone prompts or actions are required.
8. When the Board Chair calls your item, and it is your turn to speak, County staff will unmute your line and invite you to provide your comments.

Need Assistance? If you experience issues registering online, you may still participate. At the start of the meeting, call (661) 529-7155 then press * for more options when prompted to do so, then press 3 to speak with a staff member, who can assist you with registering your comment.
